Warm congratulations go to our fellow Rotarian Phil Stacy for presiding over a significant accomplishment in the Habitat for Humanity project, in which this club has a long history of involvement.
The second section of the Maude Jennings subdivision of Habitat home sites is open now, and Habitat has begun building homes for families that couldn't afford them otherwise.  For those who may not recognize the name, Maude Jennings was a businesswoman, civic leader  and leader in her church here who brought the Habitat program to Kerrville.

And we have some celebrities in our midst:
--    Bill Crumrine will be prominent among the owners displaying their luxury, classic automobiles when the Pierce-Arrow Society meets here starting at the end of the week.  Bill's 1932 Pierce Arrow Brougham was featured in a multi- column spread in the Daily Times, in which he displayed his impressive knowledge of the fate of other luxury car-markers such as Auburn, Cord and Duisenberg.    I'm sure that Cecil is glad to that the list doesn't include Cadillac.

--     Our Immediate past President, Kim Clarkson and her boys made the cover plus photos and a story inside of a special section on introducing children to age-appropriate  technology.   In our family, it's the children introducing us to current technology --  or trying to.

--     Our member Rosalie Reast was featured in a page one story in the Community Journal on her commendable program called "Be NOT Afraid." which combats the terrible problem of child abuse.

So, way to go Kim, Rosalie, Phil and Bill.
