Congratulations to our Rotary Interact Clubs at Tivy HS and Peterson MS.  There are approximately 100 high school and middle school students in the two clubs.  They have been very busy helping with Polio Plus fundraising and other community events.  We hope to get them all involved in our Kerr County Food Drive which will be held in conjunction with the Rise Against Hunger event on Saturday, March 3rd!

Let's support the Rotary Habitat for Humanity Build on Saturday, January 20th.  Volunteers should report at 8am to the office located at 129 Rankin Nix.  Work will continue until about noon.  If you can help for a couple hours, please let Rob Poindexter know!!!  Hoping to get at least 10 folks out and building!

AND ... have you purchased your Rotary Raffle Ticket for the SuperBall?  This raffle will fund our service projects and scholarships for the upcoming year!  Tickets are $100 and give the winner a chance to win amazing prizes!  Bring your check book or cash to our meeting this Wed.  We are asking all members to either buy or sell 1-2 tickets to help us reach our goal.  We have a total of 600 to sell - so please help!

Lastly, tables for the 2018 SuperBall Tailgating Event are starting to fill up!  This is a fun event with a great outcome of raising funds for our club.  Contact Kim Clarkson if you are interested in purchasing a table!  If you want to purchase individual tickets - I am working on putting together some tables.  Let me know!

Come one and all to the 14th Annual Cowboy Breakfast, which will take place on Friday, January 12, at the Hill Country Youth Event Center (3785 Highway 27), from 6am to 8am.  This is a FREE event and breakfast is served by our local 4-H and FFA students to kickoff the Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show.  Come laugh at - I mean support - your fellow Rotarians as they partake in the "Almost Famous" Goat Milking Contest and the Cow Chip Toss!

Tomorrow's program (1/10/2018) is on the Dynamic Learning Institute!  We look forward to hearing from Jeff Anderson and others who will share information about upcoming learning opportunities!  What a great topic for the New Year!

Please consider planting a tree to support the goal of 170 new trees for this year. It is a Rotary goal to plant a tree to equal the number of Rotarians in our club. So, if you have a need at your home or business, or know of a church, school, park or other entity that  could use a tree, please contact President Kristy.  Total trees planted to date (as of 1/9/2018) = 148.  We're getting there, but we still have work to do!

Betty Vernon provided a picture of the new red oak planted at Peterson Plaza.  Very nice!
